PEC Introduction:

The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) is a professional body that approves engineering education and engineering profession regulations in Pakistan. The PEC Act of 1976 established it in 1976. The Council also registers engineers and professional engineers, as well as engineering firms that consult and build/operate in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Engineering Council represents the country’s engineering community and provides support to the federal and provincial governments. It also serves as a government think tank, attempting to establish scientific standards for engineering innovations and services.

It is headquartered in Islamabad and has regional branch and liaison offices in Pakistan’s major cities. The council joined the Washington Accord as a temporary member in 2010 and was made a full member in 2017.

It joined the International Professional Engineer (IntPE) Agreement (IPEA) as a temporary member in 2011, and became a full member in 2018.
