WAPDA Introduction:

The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority is an autonomous and independent organization of Pakistan’s Federal Government that is responsible for the state’s water and power utilities. It was founded in 1958 by an act of parliament after the country’s independence.

WAPDA owns Pakistan’s largest dams and actively manages and operates the Pakistani commercial and domestic sectors’ demands and needs. It also intends to complete five more multi-dimensional dams to meet the power sector’s expanding demands.

WAPDA’s mission is to create safe, clean energy that is affordable to Pakistanis, and to reduce electricity tariffs while keeping consumers in mind. The business operates on a self-governing network across the country.
